Sri Lanka is the ultimate destination for travel and is a country unlike any other! With so many different things to see, including sandy beaches as well as wildlife, culture, history and food, it’s like an idyllic place on Earth!

The excellent time to visit is at the right time.

If you’re planning Sri Lanka tours to visit primarily the central and south provinces in the province of Arugam Bay, the desirable time to visit is from December through March, which is considered to be the season for tourists. If you’re a keen surfer and want to visit Arugam Bay, try to visit between April and September.

Attractions to include

If you’re a fan of the beach, the south coast of the Island is the perfect starting point. Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa, Mirissa, Dickwella, Hiriketiya, and Tangalle are among the most famous beaches in Sri Lanka. There is also the choice of going on a beach cruise and visiting gorgeous beaches that tourists don’t often visit.

Galle Fort is a beautiful fortified city. Galle Fort is a charming fortified town that was constructed during the time of the Portuguese and later expanded by Dutch colonists. Surfing is very popular on the east and south shores of the Island. Both regions have excellent surfing spots, including Hiriketiya and Weligama, which are located in the south.

Also, you can try kitesurfing in Kalpitiya! Arugam Bay is perhaps the most well-known surf spot on the East Coast, while Pasikuda is home to the most gorgeous beach. Ella is a fantastic place to begin exploring the cool mountains of Sri Lanka. The town is now the most popular tourist destination. It’s located in the middle of the mountains and is an excellent spot for hikes. In Ella, it is possible to visit tea plantations, hike up mountains, and take a trip to Lipton’s Seat at Haputale.

Nuwara Eliya is the ‘garden city’ of Sri Lanka and was once the destination for holiday trips for British colonists who wanted a way to get away from the Colombo heat. The city is just 2 hours by train from Ella. If you are in Nuwara Eliya, you can travel to Kandy, which is about 2 hours away. Kandy is the last island kingdom and home to the Temple of the Tooth.

Sigiriya the most well-known “Lion Rock,” is a ruined citadel that was built using a huge stone structure. The cliff’s top contains several old ruin sites. There are water gardens as well as old ruined structures to discover within the grounds of the palace.

Anuradhapura, as well as Polonnaruwa, is located in the middle of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. They were the second and first Kingdoms in Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka, you can see ancient holy cities featuring massive dagobas, water tanks made by humans and fascinating ruins around you.

Explore these national parks in Yala, Willpattu, and Udawalawe to view wild elephants as well as leopards, water buffaloes, and much more. Be sure to pay particular attention to your driver, as well as insist that they drive at a reasonable speed! Additionally, warrant that they respect the privacy of animals.

Be aware that you should not ride elephants or engage in activities which exploit wild animals. The city with the most northern part of Jaffna is amazing and is among the desirable destinations to visit throughout Sri Lanka, although it is far from the main tourist routes!
